Personal Health:  It is Important

Who out here deals with depression a lot more than they would ever like to admit?

Me too.

It happens.

It seems like everyone has to deal with some level of depression.

Dealing with your personal health and inside emotions is so unbelievably important.  Physical health is important of course, but mental health is so much more important.

I have met very few people that don’t experience anxiety and depression than those who do.  And those who don’t experience anxiety or depression are very lucky to not go through it.

So, first things first you are not alone, and you are not weird or crazy for the feeling the way that you feel.  You are also not a special case that does not deserve a life as good of a life as you want.  Just because you don’t feel like getting out of bed does not mean that you will feel like this tomorrow.  Always remember that tomorrow is a new day.

The most important element of dealing with depression is learning how to cope with your own depression.  Your own depression is different than your best friends depression or a strangers depression.   Here are some great ideas on how to cope with depression from my favorite writer:  https://www.helpguide.org/articles/depression/coping-with-depression.htm

I love you, along with many others who love you.  My name is Allie and I’m your friend to help you deal with this and I will be here to talk you through it.

I cannot stress this enough: you’re not alone in your anxiety and YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR DEPRESSION!

This is great news. You are not alone!  The person that seems so put together and so happy is probably all faking it.  They don’t have it all together and you need to remember that.  Realistically, they more than likely feel worse than the front they put on.  This is why being nice to people is so unbelievably important; you have no idea what people are going through.  So, again, you are going to have to put on a smile and deal with this.  Get up, get dressed, get some caffeine, and do it.  As Nike says, “Just Do It!”  While you are laying in bed thinking about everything that you do not have or cannot do, think of those who do not have anything.

The cool thing is, when you get involved in those certain activities, studies, journeys, or whatever you wanted to do, you’re going to find all kinds of people that share the exact same emotional distress as you. But you’re going to find that they’re functioning on a higher level yet still dealing with it.  Always remember, just because yesterday you could not get out of bed does not mean tomorrow will be the same.  This means, you’ll pick up on the same strategies they employ to position their lives that’s similar to the way you wish to position yours.

The attitude that you possess is most likely ruining your attitude.  As soon as you learn to not listen to the devils in your head, you will be a lot happier.

Only thing standing between us and a better life is, I-Don’t-Feel-Like-It.

We should make better friends with, “I’m-Going-To-Do-It-Anyway.”

Overall, when dealing with depression, the most important thing to remember is that you are not alone.  Think about all that you have and remember how many people love you.  There are always people that you can call–mental health specialists, friends and/or family.  Never give up hope and always try your hardest.  Find things that you love and you will succeed in life.  A bad day is NOT a bad life!
